Poster Requirements

Abstract submissions must relate to the workshop theme—— Equity in Action: Dismantling Injustice and Promoting Social Justice in Academic Dentistry ——and fit within one of the following learning focus areas
(works in progress are welcome):

  • Innovation: Innovation highlights programs, projects or other unique learning; clinical or community engagement activities that provide valuable lessons and insights regarding diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and health equity; dental education; the academic health professions; and health equity with a preferred emphasis on oral health. Submissions should contain an explanation of how the innovation contributes to future efforts to build an inclusive culture in academic dentistry and/or oral health.
  • Research: Research highlights that use evidence-based methodologies (e.g., quantitative, qualitative, case study analysis, legal analysis, explanatory, conceptual, descriptive, applied) to contribute to dental education and/or the academic health professions in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and health equity with a preferred emphasis on oral health. Submissions should contain an explanation of how the research contributes to future efforts to build an inclusive culture in academic dentistry and/or oral health.

Poster abstracts are limited to 500 words, not including title, authors, institutional affiliations, acknowledgements and references. If the abstract is based on research that was funded entirely or partially by an outside source, please list the funding agency and grant number at the end of the text.
